What is
NAD?

National academic repository. It
is a 24X7 online store house of all academic awards viz.certificates, diplomas,
degrees, marksheets etc. digitised and uploaded by academic institutions /
boards / eligibility assessment bodies and students.

Why??

We know that there are many issues and administrative
problems for verification of marksheets and issue of its storage, loss and
duplication and fake certificates as well. To fight This is line 2

The NAD will Store, retrieve,
authenticate and allow online verification of academic awards

NAD not only ensures easy access
to and retrieval of an academic award but also validates and guarantees its
authenticity and safe storage.

When was launched?

9 July 2017. When Swayam and
Swayamprabha were also launched.

NSDL. And What is NSDL? It isNational Securities Depository Limited (NSDL)
is an Indian central securities depository based

and transactions. Now it will store academic awards.

CDSL Ventures Limited (CVL) CDSL,
and is the first and largest KYC Registration Agency (KRA) in India with over
1.6 crore KYC records.

Don't get confused with Digilocker

Only user allowed

You Store documents/certificates
such as driving license, vehicle registration, and academic documents. It also
provides 1GB storage space to each account to upload scanned copies of legacy
documents.

Whereas NAD is for only academic
documents only. In Digilocker there is not inter verification. Only users can
see it and download it.
