Punctuation marks are symbols that indicate the structure
and organization of written language, as well as intonation and pauses to be
observed when reading aloud.
There are 14 punctuation marks that are commonly used in
English grammar. They are the period, question mark, exclamation point, comma,
semicolon, colon, dash, hyphen, parentheses, brackets, braces, apostrophe,
quotation marks, and ellipsis.
Oxford Dictionary describes Punctuation -
/pʌŋ(k)tʃʊˈeɪʃ(ə)n/ - as the marks, such as full stop, comma,
and brackets, used in writing to separate sentences and their elements and to
clarify meaning.
