What is composition?
The way in which something is put together
or arranged, the combination of parts or elements that make up something is
composition. It is a piece of writing; it is the art or process of writing
words. It is the act of putting words and sentences together. a written piece
of work that is short and usually addresses just one subject.

Meaning: It is a writing in
which the students are given a small topic with essential structure and
vocabulary items to be used in that particular topic.

Meaning: It is a writing in
which students are supposed to write freely without specidic guidance of the
teacher in regard to structures or vocabulary to be used.

Students write under
complete supervision and guidance of teacher thats why it is also called
guided composition. It is controlled by the teacher so it is also called
controlled composition.

Students are free to use
any structure and vocabulary items they like. That’s why it is called free
composition and no guidance of teacher therefore it is also called unguided
composition.
